Coates Solvent Based Screen Printing Inks for Plastics

HG :
For all kinds of thermoplastics, especially polymethacrylates (such as perspex, plexiglass, resartglass etc.) rigid and plasticized PVC, cellulose acetobutyrate, various types of polystyrene and polycarbonate.

Screen printing inks HG are quick drying to a high gloss finish and are excellent jet dry inks.

SG* :
Especially for printing onto PVC self adhesive foils and polystyrene boards. Also suitable for rigid PVC, polymethylmethacrylates (acrylic glass) and cellulose acetobutyrates. Not suitable for polyolefines (polyethylene and polypropylene).

SG inks are very quick drying screen printing inks. They show high gloss and a mild odour. Due to their fast drying and long screen openness SG inks are very suitable for high speed printing (cylinder printing machines) and for printing from roll to roll.

CP* :
Screen printing inks CP are suitable for screen printing onto paper, cardboard, polystyrene and other thermoplastics such as rigid PVC, PVC adhesive foils and polycarbonate. However, due to different properties of the substrates, pretests are recommended.

Screen printing inks CP are quick drying screen printing inks.

CX* :
Screen printing inks CX have been especially developed for stack proof printing onto polystyrene. They are also suitable for printing onto other thermoplastics such as rigid PVC, PVC adhesive foils and polycarbonate as well as for paper and cardboard. Due to different properties of the substrates, pretests are recommended.

Screen printing inks CX are very quick drying screen printing inks, especially suitable for double-sided prints on polystyrene boards. CX inks also have an excellent screen openness.

PK / PK-JET* :
For all types of thermoplastics (except polyolefines), especially suitable for rigid and plasticized PVC, for polymethacrylates, f.e. acrylic types Plexiglass, Resartglass etc. as well as cellulose acetobutyrate and various types of polystyrene. Due to the different properties of the substrates pretests are required.

Screen printing inks PK-Jet quickly dry to a semi-mat to satin gloss finish. Depending on the ink shade they show a medium to good opacity. They are weather resistant. PK-Jet inks can be mixed with other plastics inks, such as CP, CX, HG, SG, HG and PK. Ink mixtures with different ink types will partially change the properties of PK-Jet inks.

J* :
Screen printing inks J are suitable for printing onto thermoplastics and especially for various PVC substrates, however not for polyolefines. Limited suitability for polystyrene and its copolymers (no or only little adhesion of transparent, bronze and process inks and also clear J 70). Due to different properties of the substrates pre-tests are recommended.

Screen printing inks J are quick drying and show a semi mat to mat finish. Depending on ink shade they have a medium to good opacity. J inks are weather resistant and resistant against alcohol. Screen printing inks J are especially suitable for the production of double-sided decals.

TL* :
Fluorescent screen printing inks TL are suitable for printing onto paper, cardboard, polystyrene, PVC self-adhesive foils and various other thermoplastics. In any case pretests are recommended. Fluorescent inks TL are not suitable for printing onto polyolefines (polyethylene and polypropylene), duroplastics, metals, glass, ceramics as well as coated substrates.

TL inks are very brilliant, quick drying screen printing inks for a variety of applications. Although the binding agents used for the production of fluorescent inks TL have a good weather resistance, TL inks are only intended for indoor or short-term outdoor use because they have a low light fastness. If exposed to intense sun light they are subject to fade within a short period of time. Application of a very thick layer fluorescent ink (use of a coarse fabric or printing twice) and overprinting with a clear containing light stabilisers (f.e. our clears for plastics) may help.

YN* :
The screen printing ink YN is an ink type which is mainly intended for printing on packing materials, i.e. screen printing on bottles and containers of various shapes made of polyolefines (polyethylene and polypropylene require pre-treatment!), rigid PVC, polystyrene etc. However, other plastics and materials, such as acrylic glass, polyamide, duroplastics, varnished and unvarnished metals, coated papers (Chromolux) and cardboard can also be successfully printed with this screen printing ink. Therefore the use of the ink type YN is not limited to printing on packing materials, but due to its universal usability it offers many possibilities in the technical, toy and souvenir article industry.

YN can be processed as 1- or as a 2-component ink. It can be processed well on various printing materials resulting in a glossy screen printing ink film with high opacity and good light fastness.
