Coates Solvent Based Screen Printing Inks for Technical Screen Printing

A* :
For substrates such as wood, varnished surfaces, primed metals, various thermoplastics with no or only a small content of plasticizers (e.g. acrylics, rigid PVC, various duroplastics).

Screen printing inks A can also be used for printing onto acrylic moulds (panel inserts for the electronic industry).

Screen printing inks A dry by oxidation, i.e. by absorption of air. They have a gloss to semi-gloss finish, are highly pigmented and show good opacity. Screen printing inks A are weather resistant and therefore suitable for outdoor advertising.

O* :
For screen printing onto oven-cured coated substrates (f.e. traffic signs), all kinds of metals, glass, various duroplastics, rigid fibreboard etc. Pretests are absolutely necessary as adhesion may vary depending on the substrate and any pre-treatment.

Screen printing inks O are oven curing synthetic resin inks available in satin mat and gloss finish. They show good opacity. High weather resistance and are mainly intended for outdoor use. Additional overprinting is not necessary. Gloss retention in weathering conditions is good.

TZ :
Special screen inks for printing onto various textiles, either natural or synthetics, especially suitable for cotton. When printing onto synthetic fibres pretests are absolutely necessary. Application e.g. for printing on sportswear, T-shirts etc.

They have a good resistance against various solvents used in dry cleaning (e.g. chlorinated hydrocarbons, benzines etc.). However, as the solvent resistance depends on the type of fabric printed upon and the solvent used, pretests are necessary.

Textile inks TZ are highly elastic, lightfast and weather resistant (light fastness of pigments 7-8 according to DIN 16525, wool scale). Therefore TZ inks can be used for textiles subjected to weathering.

Z* :
For pre-treated polyolefines (e.g. high and low pressure polyethylene), polypropylene, acrylic glass, celluloseacetate, acetobutyrates, polyamide. Also suitable for duroplastics such as fibre glass reinforced polyester, epoxy reinforced substrates, phenoplasics, aminoplastics and varnished substrates (air and oven drying).

2-component Screen printing inks Z are mainly used on above materials if high chemical resistance is required, e.g. packaging materials. Processing is unproblematic and easy. 2-component screen inks Z show high gloss, good flow and excellent opacity.
